G\u00fcne\u015f \u0131\u015f\u0131nlar\u0131 atmosferi ge\u00e7erken, UVC\u2019nin t\u00fcm\u00fc ve UVB\u2019nin b\u00fcy\u00fck \u00e7o\u011funlu\u011fu ozon tabakas\u0131, su buhar\u0131, oksijen ve karbondioksit taraf\u0131ndan emilir. UVA ise atmosfer taraf\u0131ndan filtre edilmez. UVA (320-400 nm) \u0131\u015f\u0131nlar\u0131, en uzun dalga boyuna sahip olan UV \u0131\u015f\u0131nlar\u0131d\u0131r. UVC (100-280 nm) \u0131\u015f\u0131nlar\u0131 ise en k\u0131sa dalga boylar\u0131na sahip olan UV \u0131\u015f\u0131nlar\u0131d\u0131r.
